Oakland Bears Mite (8U) Development Program

What is a Mite (8U)?

Mites are the youngest USA Hockey age classification for players born in 2007 or younger (8U).  The Mite Golden Bears will be formed from the players in the Sharks Ice Youth Hockey League (SIYHL) Oakland Mite (8U) Fall and Winter Program during the first few weeks of the 2015 Fall Mite 8U session.

Players that wish to participate in the Bears Mite program will need to be registered for the WED/SAT/SUN SIYHL Mite 8U Program (Beginning September 16 and again January 6).

Weekly Schedule:Sharks Ice Mite 8U Practices are Saturdays 10:15-11:15am and Wednesdays 5:15-6:15pm with Cross Ice Games on Sundays 11:00am-12:00pm.

How do I know if it’s a good fit for my child?

The Oakland Bears Mite Development Program is a great fit for Mites who are eager to learn and improve and can't get enough ice! The Bears are on the ice a minimum of three hours a week and participate in a variety of fun off ice activities.  This is a great option for players seeking the opportunity to supplement their in-house experience.

In addition to weekly in-house practices and games, they will participate in NORCAL Mite Exhibition Jamborees and additional games with other local associations as scheduled by the Mite Coordinator.
