Simi Valley, CA - The Oakland Bears had an impressive but tough first day at the CAHA State Championships. They had excellent goaltending and were able to score goals but in the end were one goal short in both games. A power play goal was the difference in Game 1 as San Diego squeaked a 1-0 win in a very tightly played game. For the third time in less than 3 weeks the Bears faced the Jr Sharks in a battle to the wire. The Sharks came out on top 7-6 with a late third period goal. That left the Bears winless in day 1, but not out of it.
The Bears are in a must win situation against the Wave today at 2:15pm and need the Jr Sharks to beat San Diego. If that happens then the tie-breakers come into play to decide the second seeded team. Stay tuned and cheer on the Bears!
