The Oakland Bears PeeWee B and Midget 18 A teams have advanced to the Championship Game in their respective divisions of the Pacific District Regional Qualifier.
Both teams finished preliminary play a perfect 4-0. The PeeWees topped Tri-Valley, San Jose, Sharks Ice In-House and San Francisco to finish on the top of the PeeWee B table by a combine score of 27-9. The Midgets beat Santa Rosa, California Golden Bears, Tri-Valley and Pasadena by a combine score of 19-4.
Sunday's Championship Games take place in San Jose. The PeeWees take the ice at 10:00 a.m. on the North Rink against the San Jose Jr. Sharks; a rematch from Thanksgiving, which Oakland won 6-1.
The Midgets face off at 12:00 p.m. on the East Rink against Santa Rosa, a rematch from the opening game which Oakland prevailed 3-2.
Should either team win the Championship on Sunday, they would advance to the Silver Stick Finals tournament in January. For more informatio about those tournaments, please click here.
