The Oakland Bears Pee Wee B team and the San Francisco Sabercats played to a 5 - 5 draw on Sunday, December 9. The tie was the Bears first game after the team's Silver Stick Tournament second place finish.
The Bears jumped out to a 4 - 0 lead but the Sabercats crawled back into the game and tied the game at 4 - 4, only to see the Bears score a go-ahead goal late in the third period. In turn, the Sabercats tied the game on a power-play goal with less than a minute left in the contest.
As a result of the tie, both teams are in second place with 9 points trailing Fresno who sits atop Norcal's regular season standings. The Bears will play again on Sunday against the San Jose Girls 12 - U squad.
