Headed to State Championships April 12-14 in San Jose

After entering the NORCAL Playoffs as the #2 seed, the Oakland Bears Midget 18 A team used a 2-0-1 record through pool play to propel them into the Championship game on Sunday evening as the top seed, thanks in part to a 4-2 victory over #1 seed Roseville Capital Thunder on Saturday evening.

Although simply qualifying for the Championship game is enough to send NORCAL teams to the CAHA State Championships in April, a handful of games throughout the season had created a bitter rivalry between the two top teams in the division and left the Bears with a craving for the title of NORCAL Playoff Champions.

Sunday night's Championship game was filled with excitement all the way down to the final buzzer. The Bears received stellar goaltending and knocked two goals past Capital Thunder's goaltender to come away with a hard-earned 2-1 victory, achieving yet another season goal on their way towards the covted State Championship.

The Oakland Bears Midget 18 A will compete for the Championship in San Jose, April 12-14 and will be joined by NORCAL rivals Capital Thunder, and the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Pasadena Maple Leafs from Southern California Amateur Hockey Association (SCAHA).
