NO CREDITS OR REFUNDS - ALL SALES ARE FINAL

As with most sports, the best time to learn is when you're young. And you'll have plenty of opportunity to pick up the basics and advanced moves at Oakland Ice Center Operated by Sharks Ice. We have a team of highly qualified instructors who coach on-ice practices and lessons. Groups are separated based on age and ability.

The diagram below is useful in determining the steps to success in a youth hockey career. To get more detailed class information, or to register for one of the classes listed below by using your credit card, please click on the class title and follow the links through our online registration system.

Hockey 1, 2 and 3
This class is designed for the youth player who already has basic skating experience. If your child has minimal to no skating experience, please consider enrolling him or her into either
Pre-Hockey or Youth Beginner 1 Learn to Skate.

Hockey has a lot of components and can be overwhelming when you add gear, sticks and pucks to kids who are not comfortable on their skates. All skating classes may be completed in hockey skates and are recommended as the starting point for players of all ages who are new to ice skating. For more information or questions about skating classes, please contact Skating Manager David Hicks at dhicks @ sharksice.com

The ideal Hockey 1, 2 and 3 student will have already completed a skating class -- either Pre-Hockey, Youth Beginner 1 Learn to Skate or another comparable class at another rink. Hockey 1, 2 and 3 is open to kids ages 5 and up who are interested in learning to play hockey. Basic skills will be covered -- including skating, stickhandling, passing and shooting. Hockey 1, 2 and 3 is also a great option for kids who are interested in joining in-house hockey, but cannot commit to attending both days.

NEW RENTAL GEAR POLICY!

We are now offering participants the opportunity to take gear home in exchange for valid credit card information.

Gear is distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Participants will be fitted for gear the first week, and take their bags home after each class. All borrowed gear must be returned no later than the completion of the final class of the session.Depending on the number of registrants, and to our limited gear available, we cannot guarantee the availability of equipment. Skates used for the class must be rented and returned after each class.

We require valid credit card information at the time of distribution to be kept on file until the gear is returned. Gear not returned at the completion of the class will be charged for the amount listed on the rental gear agreement signed at the beginning of class.  All credit card information is kept in a secured office and will be destroyed once the gear is returned on the last day of class.
No charges will be made on the card except in the case of gear not being returned at the completion of the class.

If borrowing gear, please plan ahead and arrive a minimum of 30 minutes in advance (60 minutes the first week of class) to receive your set of gear and get your child dressed so he/she can be on the ice on time.

SKATE RENTAL IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION COST – 12-session skate rental books are available at the front desk at a discounted price of $42.50 (12 skate rentals for the price of 10).
